Rewind Hollow is one person publishing books. This page says exactly what is collected, why, and how to make it go away.
What is collected
Your email address, and only if you type it into the signup form. Nothing on this site asks for your name, your address, or anything else.
When you sign up, two other things are stored alongside it: which page you signed up from, and which toy you voted for, if you voted before subscribing. The vote is there so the first email can be about the character you actually picked.
Your vote is counted whether or not you sign up. It is stored as a number against that character, a running total, not as a record with your name on it.
So that you can change your mind without being counted twice, your browser makes up a random string for itself and sends it with the vote. We keep only that string and which toy it currently points at. It is not linked to your address, your name, or anything else we hold, and it tells us nothing about who you are: it exists so that moving your vote moves your vote and nobody else’s. Clearing your browser data throws it away and you become a new voter.
What is not collected
No advertising trackers. No third-party analytics cookies. No fingerprinting. No selling or renting your address to anyone, ever, for any reason.
Your browser stores one small item locally so the site remembers which toy you picked and does not ask twice. That never leaves your device and is not readable by us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Who else sees it
- Cloudflare hosts this site and runs the form. Your address is stored there, and Cloudflare processes the connection, including your IP address, briefly, to stop a robot signing up ten thousand times.
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) sends the email. Your address is passed to them so they can deliver it and handle unsubscribes properly.
That is the whole list. If it ever changes, this page changes first.
How long it is kept
Until you ask for it to be removed, or until you unsubscribe, whichever happens first. Unsubscribing removes you from the sending list; if you also want the stored copy deleted, say so and it will be.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, the EU, or California, you have a legal right to see what is held about you, correct it, or have it erased. Everywhere else, you have the same rights here anyway, because there is no good reason to treat people differently.
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. For anything else, write to [email protected] and it will be handled by a person, usually within a few days.
Children
The books are for children. The mailing list is not. Please do not sign up on a child’s behalf or let a child sign up. Nothing here is knowingly collected from anyone under 13, and if it turns out something was, it will be deleted.
About the artwork and the music
The illustrations were made with the help of AI tools, directed and edited by a person.
The music was not. Every sound on this site is synthesised from scratch in code: oscillators and filtered noise, arranged by hand. No model generated it, nothing is sampled, and there is no recording of anyone else’s performance anywhere in it.
The stories were written by a person. Nothing here is sampled from, or trained on request against, another artist’s work.
